Biography
Doreen Assaad graduated from the University of Montreal in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. As a business process optimization specialist, she has worked for large companies including Desjardins Group, Canadian National and Bombardier Aerospace. She is also certified as a Six Sigma black belt agent. This method is used in approaches to reduce variability in processes and thus aims to improve the overall quality of services.
A resident of Brossard for the past fifteen years, it is for the love she has for her city that she decided to enter municipal politics. A municipal councilor since 2009, Doreen Assaad has a long track record as she puts the families and citizens of Brossard at the heart of her priorities.
Doreen has served on numerous city council committees including the Family and Seniors Committee, the Intercultural Committee, the Environment and Sustainable Development Advisory Committee and the Planning Advisory Committee. As such, she has worked to put in place new policies to improve the quality of life of citizens and by doing politics differently.
Doreen is married with three children. Among her favorite activities are running, yoga and walking with her dog Charly.
“Since 2017, we had set ourselves a goal: to restore harmony within the Council and the Agglomeration, to work as a team, to listen to citizens. Four years later, we can say: Mission accomplished! ”. We have created a collective movement that is here to stay.
We are proud of our accomplishments. Among other things, we took up the challenge of freezing the tax bill for two consecutive years, while maintaining services to citizens, despite the pandemic.
