Diane Alexander is a well-known community leader and a respected voice in the field of health. Born in Montreal to parents from Saint Lucia and raised in Brossard, she embodies the resilience and pride of a tightly-knit community.

For 58 years, she has lived in the family home—a true symbol of continuity and heritage—where three generations have grown up.

As president of the South Shore Black Community Association, she has spent years developing programs to support seniors, youth, and families, while championing causes related to equity and education.

With over 20 years of experience as a professional in the medical field, she combines leadership, compassion, and an intimate knowledge of Brossard.

Diane is a model of civic engagement. She describes herself as ‘resilient’—a quality that guides both her personal and community journey. Her mission is clear: to remind us that diversity is not a barrier, but a wealth to be shared.

Her journey reflects an unwavering commitment to a more inclusive, supportive, and responsive city. Diane remains a pillar of the South Shore—a builder of bridges between cultures and a source of inspiration for generations to come.

“I am a mother, a grandmother, and a community association president open to everyone. I am Brossard-born and have lived in my family home since 1968. I know what it means to seek new beginnings for access to education and employment—especially for children. Brossard as a welcoming place is deeply rooted in me, and Brossard as a place to live for all citizens means even more. Working for everyone’s well-being is my passion. An inclusive, supportive, and responsive city is my conviction.”

“I consider myself fortunate to have received so much in my professional and personal life; it will be a great pleasure and privilege to continue giving back to my community by helping Doreen and her team take on new challenges. I’m ready for what’s next!”

I want to support the team.

“Since the founding of our party, thousands of people have joined the vast new collective created by Brossard Ensemble.” They contribute in many ways—sometimes as volunteers, sometimes as donors, advocates, candidates, or active members of committees. Their involvement shapes and strengthens our community at every turn.

Team up with these citizens who believe, just like you, in an open and participatory democracy.
